‘Why so much hate’, I ask.

Wow! I opened Facebook to quite a doozy this AM. If people don’t like a post then why can’t they just simply scroll past?

The above video is what I posted to a breast cancer support group (that I am a part of and is quite helpful to me) over the weekend. I have yet to post regarding my scare with cancer, but it’s been almost a year since I was told that I could possibly have breast cancer. I went through MRIs, biopsies, ultrasounds and eventually surgery to remove atypical cells and a mass. The response I got from a fellow member in the group can be seen below.

I will be going back in a few weeks since it’s almost been a year and it’s time for a mammogram and MRI. According to my doctor, while the results last time were benign, I will never be out of the woods. I can accept that, I truly can because I do understand that compared to others, I dodged a huge bullet and I’m so very lucky and thankful for that.

The reason I made the post on the breast cancer support page is because it seemed kind of obvious. How old are we when we are supposed to start getting mammograms? 40, they say. Hence, “come navigate your 40s with me“. I truly did have the best intentions, but instead, someone had to comment that my post was vain.

It seems as though there’s always that person out there that wants to get their voice in and isn’t going to just scroll by if they’re not interested.
