About Me
My name is Melissa and I am in the mid-Ruby Jubilee Club...just living day-by-day with the same experiences and questions as many other women in my age group.
I was inspired to start this blog after watching the Netflix series, Younger. I felt as though I (and many women our age) could relate to the series. Without giving too much away, the premise of the story is about a woman who is being turned down for jobs when she returns to the business world after taking time off to raise her child. She's in her 40s and is very experienced but is being turned away (indirectly) because of her age. If you haven't checked out the series, you should do so. Be prepared to become addicted, as it is truly a chore to not move on to the next episode (I spent many a work day exhausted from not being able to turn the series off the night before!!) Also, please be aware that it is a little mature for young audiences. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic series; funny, relatable, romantic and truly a treat to watch! #younger #hillaryduff #suttonfoster
Being from the south, living in the Midwest has been quite the change for me! I moved here with my husband and our son smack in the middle of Covid -- what a great time to move (as I roll my eyes). Staying inside the house and not being able to explore our new "home" or be able to meet new people is rough for a complete extrovert...ME!
Some things I love are writing, the television show Friends, music, which I feel uplifts me, and dachshunds.
I am a Journalism/Commnications major -- I can write an essay on any topic (whether or not it's good is up for debate), proofread anything and find a grammatical error (I actually enjoy finding grammatical errors -- how sad is that?!), help my son if he needs to know where a comma goes, but he better not ask me for help in Algebra 2! Give me numbers and I am lost...LOST.
I am a proud member of the grammar police. Feel free to correct a mistake if you see it. We're all human so I'm sure there will be some, but I'd rather have it called out to me than let the error roam the internet world.
I hope this blog can help us all empower each other and show support for one another. Be sure to subscribe!
