Some may not know who @scooterofthebeach is but my MIL sure does! When she heard that we were going to Siesta Key in Florida for spring break, she asked me to keep my eyes peeled. She watches his beach report via Facebook on the daily!

The beach is huge, so the hopes of running into Scooter and sending a selfie to my MIL were slim. I guess I was wrong though! He happened to be just two lifeguard stands away as my friends and I took a walk on the beach.

We needed a break from just laying in the sun (slathered in sunscreen of course!) so we went for a walk. My friend saw a lifeguard and asked me if I thought that it was him. I mean he looked kind of like him from the one video I had watched but it was hard to tell without the hat! I figured WTH! I’ll ask him and what’s the worst he could say? “Nope, not Scooter”. So I walked over and simply asked ‘Are you Scooter’ with a look of doubt on my face. “Yeppp! I’m Scooter”, he said!

Needless to say,, he grabbed his hat and we took a few pictures, but I’ll spare my friends the embarrassment by not posting.

Anyway, my mother-in-law was thrilled and shocked to see the picture and Scooter couldn’t have been nicer!
