Finally! Spring Break!!

I have been waiting for this for months! Three moms and our sons in Siesta Key in Florida! We all know that when our kids get older, time with them is few and far between. So, when my son and his friends asked if they could go away together, I jumped at the chance! I needed a vacation as well and even though we knew they'd ditch us the moment we got here, the excitement of a full week with our teenage sons was a treat!

So far it is going well minus a few hurdles -- I don't know what I was thinking by putting a huge $7 brand new bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Aloe/Lotion in my son's carry-on (to make sure the suitcase was within weight). We got to the airport and the suitcase was 5 lbs overweight so I had to pay $50. That's $10 per pound (proud of my math skills!). Why didn't I remember to take the lotion out of his carry-on? Not a clue. Needless to say, I had to throw the unopened, brand new bottle away at security. Strike one. I was bummed by whatever.

Our next hurdle was groceries almost melting in the Florida heat because our Vrbo wasn't ready. We were able to salvage them though. Strike two...

And as of late, we have a strike three and it's only been 2 and a half days. The handle on the front door broke and the moms were ready to hit the beach. We had to wait for the landlord to come and fix it. Oops. A minor setback but the day was great regardless.

Today it started out raining, which, is why I'm blogging and not on the beach. Soon though...soon.

And last night we actually managed to get some time in with our sons for dinner. That was fun!
